In dark she sews by candlelight - chiffon and tule and silk fall around her.

Midnight she walks, bare foot in the balmy summer air, stealing exotic plants.

Returning by moonlight, only to garden in more chiffon.

Dirt, smeared, kneaded into her petticoats, she sits in puddles.

The heat is oppressive.

With the temperatures determined to be difficult and unrelenting - sitting at a sarcastic 40 degrees - L has been spending most of her days languishing on her new day bed. Drinking ice cold water out of empty wine bottles and preening the new member of her little family… Kitten.

Many of L's recent afternoons have been spent sitting, languishing under her chiffon draped Fairie Nest - watching the warm, apricot days decay into nothingness. These afternoons have left L contemplating, pondering all manner of issues. Her most recent epiphany? the decision to start making an effort at home. No longer is she going to lie around watching tv and cleaning in leggings and old shirts.

For the last two days L has been swanning around, gardening in floor length chiffon robes. Pearls at her neck and all all liquids have been consumed through champagne glass's…

And now our house is peppered with sheer and pale, floor length and sparkles catch the eyes. High heels are stumbled over with every step, crystal stems a top every surface, bloom.

Designer Capsule 3 was by far our favourite show from the Perth Fashion Festival. One Fell Swoop's, etherial, delicately draped numbers sang out beautifully to L, being exactly what she would love to fill her wardrobe with for summer. Layer, upon layer of deliciousness. Unfortunately though despite PFF's wonderful work in ensuring L got front row every show, where she was seated for this particular one was less then desirable for photos, so we apologise for the blurry, de-saturated and generally sub par images… there were a despicable number of duds :(

The finale of Designer Collections #2 was the aestival, pop of Poppy Lissiman. Exquisite, vivid blocked colour and prints. Maxi skirts that swirled and swished with every step, tassel earrings and loose, dropped curls. Distinct feelings of lying on a glistening white beach, fruity cocktail in hand. Warm sun rays on your skin as you realise the colour of the liquid in your glass is the exact shade of the folds your dress makes in the sand.

The darkness flickered with polka dots and lithe models carried back lit handbags which captivated. Water coloured prints paired with bright pops of colour and chunky platforms dominated and whispers of see through chiffons softened. In the alternated darkness the structured designs seemed to strobe down the runway. This was the beginning of Designer Capsule #2...

The moon has passed by the stars and through the sky nearly once since last we were here. And for that we are sorry. Many new things have begun and old comforts have been left behind. Dissolved and absorbed to make way for the new, new memories, new imprints, new feelings.

Probably the biggest cataclysm - moving house has begun to dribble into a non issue. Something our household of felines and girl really and sincerely appreciate. The girls birthday flew past with barely a whisper, another thing we are all thankful for. This year at least.

We still have the majority of the Perth Fashion Festival posts for you, having to wait over 2 weeks for internet to be connected has been... painful... to say the least. But these delicious, feasts for the eyes will slither out over the next week or so - so stay tuned.

Friday afternoon saw the Perth Fashion Festival hold an exclusive bloggers photography workshop. As all the Perth bloggers flocked down at the stunning GPO Building to learn some tricks L, Kim, Bon and Chow were on the moon. There they feasted on nachos and pasta and giant bowls of shoestring fries. Only when they had engorged themselves to the uttermost did the four of them stumble down to the invite only event. Safe to say, they were a tad late.

Missing the introduction part of the class was fine by these lasses as once they arrived they dove right into capturing each other through their lenses. Rebellious as they are Chow and L were too busy laughing and mucking around to take any notice of what they were supposed to be doing. Too much fun was had, twirling and stumbling and telling secret jokes.

They didn't really learn anything, of course that was their fault rather then that of their talented teachers.

Once the class braved the warm natural light outside, and once "Chow" (L's naughty influence) had left. L had more attention for the class, below are a few of the images she ensnared. Don't be fooled though sweet readers, most pictures were truly too terrible to share.

All in all L had a ball, but I, with my keen feline intellect, suspect this had something to do with the company. She did leave a bit disappointed that she didn't listen enough, alas with L and her short, short attention span, that is to be expected...

The second capsule to grace us with its presence Thursday night was from budding designer Lisa Marjanovich, her nude and neutral colour pallet, her expert draping and the fluidity of her chosen fabrics was amazing. The models swam down the runway, with their chiffon skirts trailing behind like mermaid tails. They're wet look hair only emphasised this beautiful aesthetic - succeeding in creating the illusion of these beautiful ocean girls stepping out of the frothy surf just moments before.

Upon returning to the WA Museum for Designer Capsule #1 the girls fell into a blossom filled field, sweet floral aromas wafted through the air and light bounced off petals and stems. All were stunned by the amazing transformation, and each guest was as bewildered as the next as they stepped gently into the room. L ran around stealing moments of prettiness with her camera right up until the lights dimmed. Once she finally did sit down L found the most ambrosial cupcake awaiting her, and most suitably it took the shape of a peach rose.

The soft 70's tunes started and slowly the models began to flutter down the catwalk, L was hypnotised by soft swish of tulle and the enchanting sorbet colours. Midriffs were bared, pants were flared and went for days and the dresses, oh the dresses - layer, upon layer of cup-cakey, princess-y scrumptiousness. Words just can't do justice to designer Ebony Harding's luscious collection so instead we will besiege you with delectable photos.

Yeojin Bae was this weeks first official runway show for this years fashion festival, while light bounced off the heritage listed ornate ceiling of The Western Australian Museums Hackett Hall, the photographers snapped away furiously. Capturing every minute of the night through their lenses and the front row where L and her fellow bloggers was seated buzzed with heady excitement.

However as soon as the lights dimmed and the musical notes grew louder all eyes were on the double arches - where stunning girls filed through one by one emerging onto to the new "L" shaped catwalk. Each ones hair was slicked back into tight low buns and their faces were clean with the bare minimal make up. Coloured bras's we're on show giving the soft and demure dresses and printed jump-suits a wonderful sexy edge.

Legs that went for a million miles were on show, along with delicious reds, magentas, navy and nude. Pintuck detailing, fabric flowers and modest hemlines left the crowd feeling refreshed and relieved with the parisian themed collection.

Below are a small sample of the pictures L captured from the night, when collections are this appetising we find it hard to narrow down the selections and at the end of the production she is always left wondering how it all went so fast. Although one of the plusses of being a blogger is reliving each and every outfit once again when curating these posts for you.

For the first night I dressed L somewhat gothically in all black and mountains and mountains of sliver.

Last nights night of nights. Eagerly anticipated by all of Perth's elegant fashion flock began when heels and chiffon glided down the black carpet. The stems and suits were ushered into waiting elevators, equally as glamourous as their inhabitants. Stepping gently out onto the 33rd floor the dark night was illuminated by tiny twinkling lights of a sleepy city below. Unbeknown to most down below the Perth Fashion Festival was now to begin.

Live and sensuous jazz flew though the air, meeting ears and creating the perfect mood. Glittery gold champagne was daintily thrust into waiting hands, as the glittering crowd gathered to admire the 360 degree view's. Hypnotised by the landscape most were late to find seats, one and all clambered for the perfect spot, many to be disappointed.

However when the lithe and sparkling models began their flight not one person made a sound. Most stood jaw dropped, breathing somewhat heavily, absorbing the colours, the hem lines, the feathers and the hair.

The luxurious night was perfectly set to the tune of what we hope the rest of this magnificent week will be.

Barely sleeping, excitement is at maximum levels. Only two nights left to dream until the Perth Fashion Festival. Now my only job left is to plan and curate all if L's outfits, once again I am utterly destroyed I don't get to go with her. Looking back on last years posts has reminded me how full of life L was and how many unbelievably wonderful times she had. To top it off this year she has not only Princess Chow to join her but, Kim, Jessie and Bonnie… and I'm sure many more Perth Bloggers. We will also be moving half way through the festival. Words are beyond describing the pure and utter emotions both she, I and Buster are feeling.

WA Designer Collections

Aside form the Runways PFF and Nikon school are holding a "VIP Bloggers Photography Class" to which L has also been invited.

We don't have time to go into details or to craft beautiful sentences about how utterly stoked we are right now as our eyes are practically half closed. But if you haven't snapped up your tickets yet hop to it! A handful of shows have already sold out and the rest of the tickets won't last long!

If you are going and you see L out and a about, make sure you say hello! she loves meeting my readers and reporting back to me all that transpired. Oh and don't forget to have a sneak at last years posts to get you in the mood!

The stunning dress in this post was given to L by Miss Bonnie Friday, it is by far one of the prettiest dresses L now owns and fits like a dream! We are ever so thankful it fell into our possession and the Bon was kind enough to not let L pay for it. (she was selling it a vintage sale after all)

We now its time to curl up in dream land, L is already sound asleep next to me as my paws type and wouldn't you know it, she dreams her dreams still in her new dress. She was much to tired to even take it off.

Nestled delicately inside a sea of concrete L found an oasis.

A bench of fake, emerald green grass and panelled wood.

Like a sunken ship, marooned in the hard grey ocean.

There to help the mundane office workers.

There to make their cigarette breaks just that bit more bearable.

L and Kim settled down to flick through magazines and spot mermaids.

Much to the surprise of the suits passing by.

Had they never seen the ship used for lounging?

They of course whipped out their cameras and trapped this delicious moment inside their lenses.

They never want to forget the fun and laughter they share.

This week changed... and with the arrival of monday morning everything looked beautiful. The sun was out and beaming smiles at L. As she awoke, bathed in a warm golden glow, she should have known then that something extremely special was in the works. But due to recent never ending darkness she scoffed at the happy sun and looked down on the people praising the stunning weather.

However when she opened her MacBook she was blessed with the news she had been waiting for, over two months of searching had come to an end. L was offered an apartment. Not just any apartment either, one with a magically large courtyard and one in the most perfect position, close to everything she loves. She was, safe to stay over the moon. The fantastic news didn't end there either, for not ten minutes later invitations to the Perth Fashion Festival rained down on her and catapulted her over the stars and the sun with happiness. It was the beginning of a good day.

She dressed for her happiness in an ridiculously bright magenta dress and set off on HER day. This day was made for her, made to change everything, and that it did.

Another day. Another coffee. Another outfit post.

Today I was quite enamoured with L's hairdo. As avid readers would know she is all for "lazy styling" especially when it comes to her hair. L is quite content to either let her curls go wild and free or else capture and trap them into the ever favourite top knot. But today she felt like a little bit more, and to give a little extra boost to her self esteem she also added some lips.

The sun was out in full force today, warming the backs of her legs wherever she walked. After coffee she traveled down to the river and found countless golf balls buried in the sand. L imagined them flying high over the grounds of the golf course, across the water and sailing on the tides over to the other side. Escaping their terrible fate of forever being bruised and falling into holes. It was a nice thought, knowing even they escaped...

lump lingered last in line for brains, and the one she got was sorta rotten and insane...

L was given the nickname Lump a very, very, very long time ago, by one of her oldest and dearest friends. Yesterday on the way to meet with Kim for lunch L heard this song and memories overcame her. She sat on the bus in the sun and smiled. It was the beginning of a good day.

We feel as though we're cheating you, but we still don't feel up to words. To make up for it here is a double outfit post!

First look was taken weeks and weeks ago, before the move and before Lady Chow jetted off to NYC, and second look was from the other sunny-days lunch with Kim, Bon and Jessie.

For those of you who have sent tweets and texts and comments with kind words and wishing L well, thank you so much, you all mean the world to us and you brighten up even the darkest times. And yes, things are looking up, more so every day!

We've been extremely quiet over here for the last couple of months, many "adventures" have unfolded. Leaving us all feeling drained and depleted. These "adventures" have included but aren't limited too - L breaking a couple of ribs, packing up and moving out of our house in less then a week (with said broken ribs), trying to find a new place to no avail and I'm sure many more unpleasant things that escape this kittens mind at the moment.

Today was one of the first "good" days for awhile. L soaked up the beautiful golden sun we've been blessed with lately in her new Seafolly dress, a very thoughtful present from a friend who wanted to make up these last few shitty weeks to her. And boy did this dress do exactly what it was bought for. Ticking all the right boxes; short, flowing, longer sleeves for that chilly wind and even delicate lace like details. L was in the best mood all day and this dress was to thank for it.

Tomorrow L is getting back into life with full force, the house hunt continues with as many home opens as she can squeeze into one day, and lunch with fellow Perth bloggers, Kim and Bonnie and maybe even Jessie.

For now we are too tired for carefully sculpted words, so once again we will leave you with pretty pictures and somewhat haphazardly put together sentences. But never fear, we shall be back and with more vigour than ever. So thank you all for sticking with us and we can't wait to get back into the swing of things.

PFF creeps closer...

As the much anticipated Perth Fashion Festival approaches lets have a look at what the amazing PFF has already put on this year, beginning with the highly sought after Ellery Spring 11/12 trunk show held at 140 William in April.

-ELLERYLAND-

Towering heels and polished, silken hair, tiny dresses with dazzling adornments, red carpets and Chambord cocktails, glittering Moet and delectable canapés. Industrial, raw space’s crammed with every one of Perth’s gilded fashion society. Flashes of dazzle and camera littered the night, glancing off gold and silver. The elite blended and babbled nothing but style, timidly waiting for the show to begin.

L and her fellow bloggers giggled and stumbled, they were photographed and they mingled. They drank amethyst coloured cocktails and shimmering champagne until they were lead to their front row seats. There they awed over their prime seats and lingered over spilt champagne. And when the light dimmed, their jaws dropped.

After their banquet of fashion they tumbled to the after party where they sipped more ambrosial drinks and fluttered around laughing and examining the ethereal designs, howling though the night.

today the sky was pink... she did boring things like cleaned. We discovered new things outside but were startled by loud noises. We scurried inside and hid. She mocked us. She wore this dress today. It reminded her of last week. Chow and her played in alleyways making the most of their fleeting time and the fleeting sun.

The sky wasn't pink that day.

Yesterdays weekly wanderings with Kim saw the girls roam from one end of the city to the other. They went in search of coffee and macaroons. But unfortunately those they found weren't that crash hot, and for Kim's first taste it was a mighty shame.

After their coffee the girls found themselves in front of a beautifully quirky store that they had just finished reading about over on BonnieFriday. Enamoured as they were Kim and L ventured inside and to their delight they were bombarded with beautiful jewellery hidden beneath equally as stunning old bell jars. They spent some time talking with the owner and by the time they left they were both in love.

For a day in the city L chose to pair her super warm jodhpurs and boots, (which is fast becoming her go to bottoms) with one of her frilly, puffy shirts. Its the first time she's actually worn this one but we're very happy with it's light and frilly and fun demeanour.

We especially love how the delicate, frilled sleeves poke out her leather jacket wrists.

Kim and L bundled themselves into this cute new cafe/bar hidden among the alleys of the Perth CBD, there they escaped the cold wind and celebrated Kim's birthday with delicious glasses of wine and a scrumptious Spanish board. They sat in a corner booth clicking and tasting away the hours, sucking down octopus delicately while people watching

Today L wore her new OneTeaspoon cape/dress, I pressured her into pairing it with these electric blue tights and what have come to be L's new winter staples - Chow's borrowed Acne's and Wang. Mucking around in town with the gorgeous Chow, They shopped and laughed and joked and forgot what level they were parked on. They went for coffee at the most wondrous place, filled with big sinkable, leather arm chairs, forgetting their camera, instead they both laughed heartily and dove mouth first into a bowl of wedges and aioli.

Neglected-Bored-Lonely

Work has been eclipsing absolutely everything fun and interesting in L’s life recently, much to the dismay of Buster and I. Instead of fooling around with her all day, rolling around and playing tricks on her, we have resorted to sleeping the days away mightily alone and depressed. I haven’t even been able to blog as L’s too busy for photos *sigh*

Today however L managed to squeeze in a delicious catch-up with the ever wonderful Kim and the super fun BonBon. They lazed and basked in the warm, golden sun, surrounded by lush greenery. They then gallivanted around the city in search of giant bowls of chips and enchantingly garlic –y aioli, and despite them all being well over the legal age, each chose an ice-cold coke to sip on while inhaling the tremendously thin fries.

After their quick lunch they of course stopped for outfit photos much to the amusement of passers by, but of course they giggled and danced despite of it.

Today L wore one of her only pairs of flat shoes. Her 14 hole Dr Martins, they were a gift from herself for her 16th birthday and true to the Doctors word they are still going strong (although they may need a polish) However once home L’s ankles were blistered beyond belief. Her keen deductive reasoning believes her feet have changed shape and her boots need to be re worn in. She is not looking forward to this. At all.

Coffee and strawberry macaroons with Chow and Alexis. The three of them stood, huddled around the counter and ummed and arred over their choice in flavor, fluffy pillows of biscuit in two colours lay under a shiny glass cake topper. One a delicious pink, the other, a rather unappealing dirty beige. Needless to say each girl chose a strawberry one.

They sat under the enveloping heaters and devoured delicate biscuit and drank piping hot coffee. The giggled and chattered and then stumbled off for photos.

There they twirled and pranced and laughed.

So unfortunately L’s poor little paw is still sore, but at least this means she can now walk in heels again. This means she could finally journey out for an outfit post!

The beautiful, crisp evening saw L and Chow venture out for coffee. Once again they were drawn to their favourite coffee haunt, Beaufort St.

With its overflowing cafe aromas, lively cocktail bars and tremendous food they are constantly stopping by. And I must say it helps that this electric street is less than a pounce away from L’s house.

They began their journey as always, gossiping and laughing and comparing notes on the past week, all the while L licked cocoa and milk froth off her spoon and Chow managed to snort powdered chocolate up her nose. A tremendous feat for anyone but her.

After coffee they spent over an hour crossing roads, snapping away and looking for the perfect light, which of course was found after they we’re done. In the form of the chemist car park, they then spent another 30 mins dodging cars and sitting under flood lights while people and cars gasped and stared.

This beautiful olive green dress is one L designed and made a little over 2 years ago. I love the swishy cut layered skirt - although it may be a tad short with these shoes. Worn here with her much favoured Babushka oversized square top and some cute ankle boots, I feel I am quite enamoured with this pairing. I wonder if my lovely readers agree with me?

These last few weeks L has been on a bit of a literacy kick (hence the disappearance from the blog, and the interwebs alike) Well that may be bit of an understatement. She’s read 25 novels in as many days and we have a feeling the end may not be insight.

In other news L took a tumble down the stairs the other day. The word tumble may be yet another understatement on our part. More like she went head over heels, bum in the air and smashed into a billion little pieces on the floor.

Ok so that one may have been an exaggeration, but her foot is royally rooted. So much so that she has to heavily drug herself up just to walk on it. Buster and I keep telling her that’s a bad idea and she should just stay in bed, but I guess it’s not in her nature to listen to super smart kitties.

This outfit is actually a couple of weeks old, just an easy, comfortable ensemble perfect for slumming around the house and schlepping to the shops.

Pigtails have been a constant in her outfits recently and to say we’re enamoured with them would be the least. They add that extra bit of girlish fun to the day that is ever so necessary.

Today consisted of L running out the door and into town wearing socks. Shoes in hand - the poor thing thought she could walk quicker that way seeing she was a tad late for meeting Miss K. There was many an odd stare from little old ladies as she skipped though china town, shoeless.

L and Miss K were off for a roam around the art gallery to see what was on show. And boy were they pleased, the Year 12 Perspectives exhibition was on as well as a superb display, REMIX, a showcase of talented WA artists all from very different backgrounds, ages and experiences. It was wonderful to see some West Australian work for a change and it was all new and fresh and wondrous to look at. If you have the chance and live in Perth definitely go and have a gaze for yourself.

Unfortunately L was not allowed to take photos in the gallery, which is odd as from her recollection of trips to other galleries over Australia photos were allowed, just no flash. Hmmmmmm.

After their cultural excursion they took some obligatory happy snaps outside in the community garden and then trekked to Macca’s for some “feel good” junk food.

Upon returning home Buster and I were treated to a play in the garden while she read until the sun went down. A lovely end to a lovely day.

Today was a bittersweet catch-up with the ever favourite Chowface! Im told they barley stopped to breathe as they caught up over the best coffee on Beaufort St, words and sentences ran together and their topics were vast and many. L is undoubtedly in a much better mood since she got her best friend hit.

It’s time for another super awesome girl pact challenge!!! (hopefully Ms Abby hasn’t forgotten) this week’s theme was NEON, particularly hard as L has less than zero neon items... instead we decided to be a little ~~sneaky~~ creative and chuck in some random images of neon signs.. Hope this still counts!

We've been wanting to wear this Camilla and Marc dress for a while and today we found the perfect way to dress it down. Bought for a ball a couple of years ago the poor thing has been sitting neglected in the clothes room screaming to be worn almost every day the last two weeks. It fits like a dream and is so very well made, and who doesn’t love a tule skirt!

L's old docs are another item that has been on heavy rotation this last week or two these beautiful 18 hollers have been a part of L's life since she was 16 and are perfectly worn in.

Regular readers of our little blog will know it’s certainly not often L wears flats but these may be making more than a few appearances over this coming winter!

Forcing ourselves to get back into the swing of blogging. Car breaking down and waiting in shopping centre car parks with heavily perishable items. Sleeping till 2pm cause the alarm didn’t "feel" like going off. Watching endless strings of late 90's teenage angst series. Procrastinating about cleaning the house. Bottomless cups of peppermint tea and homemade potato salad. Neon rope lights and plaid.

Warring cats and felines stealing crackers and pate. Midnight walks down moonlight streets. Refusing to brush hair. Trying to convince the humans to procure us a new kitten. Missing our best friend and pinning for human interaction. Stepping on tubes of glue and experimenting with new nail polish colours. Buster running around with packets of glitter in his mouth.

Finding new blogs and reading disturbing books. Researching weirdness and using the couch as a bed. Mourning the loss of super pink laptop. Drawing in the margins of cooking books for fun. Green eyes watching. Contemplating painting the cats claws bright colours. Have to wait till they're asleep. They never sleep.

Wine, wine, wine, wine and more wine. Finding chocolate love hearts everywhere. wandering around the house at 4am when dreams die. Dreams where I can taste, dreams where there is a 50 foot table of food to taste. Waking up hungry and soothing belly with peanut butter toast. Wasted days.

Last night in an attempt to inspire some blogging L and the ever astonishing Abby decided to challenge each other. Their blog challenge had little to no rules just a
theme and a timeline. The post must be done today and the theme, pastels.

Silly L for picking this theme as she has very, very little pastel in her wardrobe. The only things she could find were a baby pink wig (no idea how she got all her hair under that tiny wig!) and backpack and baby blue sass & bide jeans. Hence this odd combination today.

It’s just a much uninspired time at the moment, thus the lack of posts. Days are spent wallowing and watching "My So-Called Life" Hope you enjoy these random snaps, and hopefully we’ll be back on track soon-ish. Thanks for bearing with us guys.

A humming bird’s wing beat of an outfit post for today. Chow and L went for coffee in Leederville, but unfortunately their time was cut short by a meeting. They are back shooting with L’s trusty awesome lens, although not totally fixed yet she did forget how much of a dream it is to shoot with it.

Oh and we’ll be back to regular programming soon. So our apologies for the lack of posts.

We tend to get quite antsy with pesky things like furniture layout and room repurposing, L seems to be changing rooms around almost as much as clothes! Anyone else have this pesky problem?

L is a big fan of finding new and interesting routes to well travelled locations. Today was one of these days, just a quick trip to the shops via an exciting adventure. It was on one of these voyages today, L came across a black cat. Never being one for superstitions, she of course stopped for a pat. After a little nuzzle and a meow she set back off on her escapade. Not two steps past before she decided to wave goodbye to the pretty kitty. Astoundingly though she was not waving back at a pretty, shiny black kitty, but TWO pretty, shiny black kitties! We’re pretty sure L cloned the cat. She yet to try out her new found powers though I convinced her that two Buster was not a terribly good idea.

Today, we also realised that this past Tuesday was the 1st anniversary of this little blogity blog. It’s been a year and two days since we started this little venture, it’s seemed like no time! Such a fun journey filled with limitless joy and new friends. We are both pretty much over the stars that we’ve lasted at something this long, usually either L or I get bored and forget about little projects, its looking like this really has some potential. So thank you all dear readers you really are what makes this so special. Your coments and questions and words of loveliness, and even just your clicks. They bring a smile to our face’s each and every day.

Of course nostalgia comes with birthdays and while flipping through the virtual pages of this style diary we thought it would be nice to share some of our past outfits with you, although to preserve your poor internets we decided to make a collage. Just a few pictures from L’s most recent date with the ever fantastical Kimba.

This past Friday they’re date saw them set off for an attractive skip around Hyde Park and of course feast on the customary crackers, pâté and salami as they whiled away the hours gossiping and catching up. ‘Twas, as usual a magical day for them both.

As there was a mix up in times L was late as always. She threw on this easy acid wash maxi and a delicate lace mini vest thing and matched it all up with what is fast becoming L’s favourite bag that is not a bag, her practical and stylish utility belt!

L playing around with her wonderful camera and all the pretty settings today, really this camera is by far out of L’s league, being one of the best Nikons that are available at the moment. She really should take a photography class to get the most out of it. But for now she’s making the most of just playing around with it.

Today I dressed L in one of her favourite skirts, one of her favourites yet one of her least worn. I think it has something to do with the length; she certainly isn’t used to it. Yet after today I think she might be wearing it a bit more.

Worn today with a crop top she got with her sari from an Indian store, her vintage hunter green Akubra and a feathered head dress worn as a belt.

Tonight L and I are gearing up for a vicious movie marathon... and maybe, hopefully pizza for dinner!

Last week L defied all of nature’s previous undue conclusions about her and her luck. Last week L won something. For as long as L could remember she had never, ever won anything, yet when she did, boy was it something wondrous. The beautiful Jess from Harlequins Party had a delicious giveaway. And not only was L lucky enough to win, but the gorgeous prize was even hand delivered by Jess herself! Upon answering the door L was utterly flummoxed, she was a babbling mess and is sure she made an absolute fool of herself.

Her prize was wrapped magically but of course impatient L couldn’t wait to see her tremendous treasure hence no pretty wrapped pictures. Nevertheless she did manage to snap some scrumptious images for your viewing pleasure.

Defying the ever hideous weather L decided to crank up the air conditioning to the extreme today. Her challenge, to create and prance around in a wonderful wintery outfit, It was her “f$#* you” to summer.

Despite the fact that today summer is officially no more, and we say hello to the first day autumn, this heat is forecasted to continue on for the next couple of weeks. Not looking forward to it.

This outfit has been in L’s head for a very long time and she just couldn’t wait for the cooler weather any longer. Now that it’s been “tested” she can’t wait for the seasons to change and to be able to wear it out of the house.

Today was yet another putrid, sticky, muggy day. So hot and repulsive in fact that the last thing L wanted to do was leave the house. But boy was she glad she did, for on the way home from milkshakes with Chow. They spotted a wondrous sight. A tiny little owl, sitting, forlorn in a tree outside L’s house. ‘Twas quite a phenomenal sight. There he perched, most of the afternoon, huffing and puffing in the miserable heat. Once the sun set and there was but a little relief from the scorching temperature he launched up in flight, off home hopefully. But while he was there he was an impressive spectacle, L brought me loads of photos, which means I get to share them with you! Oh an a little peak at what L chose to tramp out in, although light and breezy not really any reprieve from the weather.

With L having so much fun on Sunday she of course forgot to get some full outfit shots, luckily though the super smart Chow had the forethought to snap some quick ones before they left. While waiting for their lift Chow sat in the shade drinking rose out of cups and L took the chance to water her neglected front garden.

I had the honour of dressing her for the Blogger Picnic and chose her stunning shredded singlet, her pvc rats and of course, the crowning glory L’s utility belt. This belt is something extraordinary, handmade by an awesome local designer whose name escapes me right now. It was found when searching for a friend’s birthday present; needless to say L couldn’t bring herself to buy something for herself while shopping for another’s birthday present. This problem was swiftly fixed by returning the next day and snapping this baby up. It has now become a favourite in L’s wardrobe rotation, and it’s so wonderfully free to not have to lug a huge bag around!

High up on a windy hill, overlooking the bustling city a cluster of VERY well dressed and stylish girls met for an whimsical afternoon picnic. Complete with delicious homemade cupcakes and fruit and cheese and wine and much silly giggling. They lazed on the soft cool grass, getting to know each other, drinking and laughing and taking copious amounts of photos. They feasted on gummy snakes and strawberry creams and attempted to dip them into mug-wine.

Today the dynamic duo, Chow and L decided to try and contest the heat by taking an impulsive trip down to the river in an attempt to search out a somewhat cool breeze. They sauntered up and down the foreshore like a pair of giddy school girls, on the hunt for the nonexistent cool air, mucking around and puling funny faces for the camera. Only someone seriously tapped in the head would have willingly chosen to leave the house on Wednesday. And of course, that insanely bonkers person was L. While Buster and I sat at home in cool, breezy air conditioned comfort, preening and petting and cleaning each other, the crazy one ambled off and made the long, humid, disgusting walk to town. She was there to her only joy, to see the amazing Kim. Although expectedly they weren’t much fun, for each was wilted and sun touched from wandering the hot city streets. Eventually they retreated to the moon, which was dark and cool and empty. They sipped on ice cold cokes and dined on hot chips, Turkish bread and dips. They were delicious.

I dressed L simply in a light and airy granite dress paired with one of L’s favourite tops, a colourful little tie-dye tank. We also chose today to be the first time wear of her beautiful new headpiece, which was a steal at just $5.

This week I have been hiding, veiled in sheer, elderly curtains. Buster on the other paw is finding comfort anywhere and in any position as seen below.

This never ending heat has taking its toll on everyone, including Buster and I. L is not one for monotony, she thrives on change, this coupled with L’s unusual love for winter has made this eternal summer all the more unbearable. One of the only things that cure’s her perpetual uneasiness is her catch ups and frequent coffee dates with Princess Chow, that and her weekly Wednesday catch ups with Kim.

Both L and I absolutely cherish all the new friends we’ve both made since starting this wonderful little blog. The other Perth fashion bloggers are beautiful, fun and well to say the least amazing. Each one with their unique style and outlook on life. In fact the one thing she has been looking forward to is next weekend’s fashion blogger catch up held by Jessie from The Velvet Bow and April from Don’t You Know April Rose, It’s to be a lovely picnic up at the remarkably beautiful Kings Park. L is quite excited to meet the real people behind the blogs and to chat and while the hours away talking nothing but her favourite topic, fashion.

These last few days have been the longest L has gone without seeing her partner in crime and she was overjoyed to have an extended coffee date with Chow. As usual they gossiped and laughed and spilled coffee all over their clothes.

Today L buckled into the raccoon tail trend, she had been yearning for awhile and was lucky enough that Buster alerted her to this amazing little bit of fur stashed away in L’s fabric hoard. Unbelievably this DIY only took her 10 mins and she was ready to go and, well I must say I am quite smitten with it. What do you guys think? Racoon tail worthy?!?

I cattily wasn’t thrilled by this outfit however I do supremely adore the ethereal swishy sounds made by L’s vintage ball skirt and her preposterously long faux pearls. I am on strike from dressing L these days due to... well, again the high temperatures (can you say broken record)

A quick peek into the new Manikinn store off Beaufort St turned into L and Chow wasting away the minutes in this pleasantly cool alley. Things didn’t work out as planned to say the absolute least. However they did get some good photos so that was an elegantly ironic end to their whole debacle.

This graceful blouse makes more than the odd appearance here, being one of L’s favourites. It was her mothers, it’s light and airy for summer and perfect for layering in winter although it reminds me of the “puffy shirt” from Seinfeld, I do love it all the same. Worn with a pain black razor back dress from temt (I think) and Princess Chows topshop boots, topped with L’s favourite new gold and of course L’s beautiful MJ Stam.

Magical missions today including but not limited to, super lame jokes, glamorous feather hunting in suburban sheds, the best coffees in Perth and hunting through bead shops. The devious duo whom seem to be joined at the hip these days, embarked on their journey of shopping for ingredients intended for their new feather and crystal necklaces.

L wore a deliciously light and airy dress topped with a crinkled top and her beloved one teaspoon leather bustier. I especially love the elegant movement and surprising texture in this outfit. Even though both L and I lust for colder days so she can layer and wear boots, we are enjoying the challenge of summer dressing, and it’s always nice to not have to wear a coat all the time.

Mucking around with the sublimely delicious chow after sweet treats of milkshakes and laughter. L fell to the ground in giggles many a time.

This dress is lusciously mouth-watering. Its light and breezy lace is like wearing smiles. Both L and I are particularly enamoured by the spectacular butterfly sleeves and perfect detail to every inch. This is a dress to make you feel like a princess.

Somewhere under all these emerald leaves lays a secret, a hidden jewel of childlike wonder and intrigue. A magical hollow where imagination reigns absolute, where dreams and hopes twine and meld to create wondrous lands. Buried, long forgotten between suburbia and labyrinth like alleys. This nook was once visited and enjoyed every day, was once the home to countless adventures and games. The sun was watched and mourned at the end of each and every summer day from the giant, now unseen limbs that gently cradled restless children into twilight.

This evening L came back. She visited the colossal tree. She swung on the swing her dad made for her. She gazed up and watched the sun hide. She attempted to climb the great limbs. She crushed and crunched dead leaves under her feet. She remembered childhood escapades.

Another gossamer wrinkled day, this blistering and everlasting summer has been taking its toll on L. All she’s in the mood for is layers and boots and warm fluffy coats. I guess we should make the most of it while we can, as I foresee once the frost arrives again L will be lusting for seasons bygone.

Lunch today with Bon Bon and Chow, although the food was sub-par the company was scrumptious. Afterwards they meandered around town, bumping into old friends and of course taking many a photo.

Scheming is a constant theme right now. Stay tuned.

Delicious pancake dreams were violently smashed and destroyed this morning, much to the dismay of this little kitty, who was quite looking forward to licking non-existent leftovers off L’s face. Instead L and Miss Kim found themselves confused and lost, wondering about the city aimlessly and unsure of where to go from there. They eventually chose a charming little cafe half hidden down a twisted alleyway for their brunch escapade.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent wondering in and out of shops where more dreams and wishes were made and then, just a quickly shattered. T’was certainly a day for dream destroying.

Not too happy with today’s outfit, there’s not really anything wrong with it... I just feel its very "beige" for L. But due to a much needed sleep in and some last minute work before her adventures she was left with very little real time to create something that would be wondrous to my keen kitty eyes. Perhaps we’re both just a tad uninspired today. Although I do love that blue on her.

L and Chow were transported to a different world this morning, a world filled with all types of animas, some long extinct, some native to beautiful Australia. They were surrounded by rocks and halls of butterflies, rooms packed full of old relics and reptiles.

As they wandered the museum they couldn’t help but touch everything that was forbidden and gasp at unthought-of wonders. They began their journey in an eerie antechamber filled with taxidermy. Stuffed animals from around the globe, they saw tigers and bison and anteaters and feral cats, they marvelled at zebras and monkeys and tree squirrels, at all kinds of birds and even they spied a sloth.

After the animals they found themselves surrounded by butterflies, butterflies all the colours of the rainbow and more, some as big as their head, some with eyes on their wings. The stared hypnotised by the vibrant hues for much longer than thought.

And then came the dinosaurs.

After their educational escapade they got coffee and chocolate ice-cream and sat in the sun.

L was determined today. She had an unwavering urge to wear something she’d never worn before. To wear something out there and crazy, to wear something colourful. I watched her survey her wardrobe, fumbling and hunting. I noticed her snatch and capture many a beautiful piece.

Nevertheless she kept coming back to one particular item, a deliciously beautiful article, a treasured yet still unworn piece. A fantastically bright and dazzling bikini top, adorned with improbable but gorgeous 3D flowers in pinks and purples, yellows and oranges and dapples of red and green.

Once she saw it she was set, she couldn’t get it out of her head, so many ideas raced through her mind. Thick and fast. At last she settled on something relatively simple to compliment the gloriously floral top. It turned out to be a sleek acid-wash maxi dress. Once on I glanced at L. I wasn’t sure what to think. I thought I liked it, but I wasn’t sure. After letting it set in I decided it was astonishing, strange yet compelling, odd and beautiful all in one.

Whilst out taking photos L did rather clumsily get stuck in the giant vine outside... luckily we got a quick snap!

There are only so many pretty and eloquent ways I can tell you it was another hot, horrible day. But unfortunately for us the heat plays a giant part in our days. Or should I say our lack of days. The sticky, uncomfortable warmth creates an air of laziness and feelings of wanting to do nothing more then roll over in our soft bed and go back to dreamland, where it is infinitely cooler.

So instead L finds herself wasting the days away procrastinating, pacing and wandering around the house doing everything but what needs to be done, yet not actually accomplishing anything. It’s quite infuriating this purposeless mood. I do hope everyone else is dealing with this heat better.

In a fit of boredom this afternoon Buster jumped on top of L, he pinned her down and proceeded to rape L with millions and trillions of licks and kisses. I love watching this becoming feast of love and L struggling to get free from the naughty kitten. Usually the camera is nowhere to be found when these “assaults” occur. However today we were lucky to catch him in the act.

Yet another demurely warm and sticky day. Early this morning Buster and I had a delicate and leisurely yet ephemeral time with L, she lay on her back, with us under a table, watching the world upside down and thinking and listening and remembering. She put on mellifluous, melancholy old music and pondered with us till the gossamer wrinkled morning drifted away from her.

Today’s outfit came about purely by chance, as many wondrous things do. Upon waking L dragged on the first top her fingers had the pleasure of grasping, destiny’s chosen one? a tie-dye singlet.

After breakfast finding herself wondering if she should indeed put on pants, L spied an opulent pair of BlackMilk lightning leggings lying on the coffee table. (Which happens to be a strange place for leggings, however she had been showing Chow these lissom beauties the previous evening. So, I feel their unusual home was meant to be, if not, at least a little justified.) Of course these were pulled on with much great haste.

And again as L was leaving to visit her mother, she threw on the nearest shoes and over top. Black and big and black and big. The delicious hat was adopted from her mum’s house and I must say I was delighted upon first seeing L bounce through the door.

The rest of the weekend has of course been spent by me in sunspots and rifling through L’s wardrobe. L on the other paw has been scribbling and pasting and cutting and glittering to her heart’s content in her new/old leather visual diary.

Once given to L on her 18th birthday by her mum and then put away for safe keeping, the poor thing was pilfered, stolen and kidnapped in the night by L’s younger brother Smiley. Remembered only weeks ago, L by chance happened to ask her brother if he had seen it.
Under L’s iced and bitter stare he relented and professed he had but nicked it years ago... luckily the rat had not used it, well for nothing more than a beer coaster, and well while upset when she first spotted the stain, it has become rather endearing to L. It cocooned into a beautiful flaw, like everything in life.

Waking late and peppermint tea, left over pizza for breakfast and searching for socks, procrastinating and more crap tv. Sauntering down William st and not knowing where to go, time stood still while they window shopped and laughed. Stopping for coffee and duck fat, double fried chips and aioli watching the world pass down King st. Chow leads them into a dead end. Stopping to pick up noodles for dinner and another sneaky, cheeky cigarette, quick goodbyes and promises of tomorrow.

L’s ridiculously hot and humid day was shattered by a gorgeously relaxing walk down to the park with Chow. They strolled past lakes and under shade spilled trees, counting ducks and letting the somewhat cold breeze cool them. Chatting on all manner of things, they enjoyed the last of the afternoons fleeting light with childlike wonder.

I’ve actually been feeling a bit neglected of late. With L spending so much time with this ridiculously stunning girl, Buster and I have found ourselves cuddling up in our favourite sun spots more and more and getting to play fetch less and less. So in turns we’ve been sulkingly dropping hints by nudging our aluminium balls and the sink plugs under L’s feet. Alas, it hasn’t been working.

Although don’t get us wrong we are over the moon that L has found such an astonishing new friend. In just the last couple of weeks L has regaled countless tales of a fast and furious friends ship forming, of laughter filled adventures and of cherished memories being created.

Not many words today at all. So we’ll keep it short and sweet.

She's wearing dress made and designed by L and a reconstructed vintage Queen shirt. One of L’s favourites for lazing around the house, although I think it makes her top half look quite masculine, this was the perfect lazing around outfit for today.

Today was bathed in a wonderfully warm colour palette. Burnt reds, dusty yellows and oranges were all speckled heavily, surrounded by landscape. Reminding L of thick dollops and drops of vibrant oil paints.

I spent the morning buried, deep under warm tunnels of fabric out in the sun while buster stalked, attacked and eventually destroyed his favourite prey.

The beautiful colour theme continued throughout the golden tinged afternoon with flirty, playful orange and yellow butterflies who teased L by darting to and fro, escaping before her eyes. Black and yellow furry bees flirted and dodged her bare-foot step as she jumped from puddles of shade. Fruitlessly trying to evade the sting filed bite of steaming asphalt.

This beautiful frock was a forgotten, forbidden, guilty late night, online purchase. Safe to say it was a delightfully whimsical way to start this hot, summer day.

Fantastically coloured Indian dripped down their eager spoons.
Wandering the streets in sky high boots, glittering Christmas lights, lit their unknown way.
They laughed and tumbled and sneaked naughty cigarettes in the warm summer air.

Content in their own little world Chow and L, they did not care.

chartreuse glows in the dark, and if you drink enough of it, your eyes will turn bright green...

Half way through L’s tale she found a string of fairy lights to tease me with. While she told me the rest of her sickly, sweet adventures, I was hypnotised by the buds of light that danced around the bed. She relayed a story of a warm, humid encased night, splashed with neon green drops of Chartreuse and a backdrop of buzzing city lights.

A Never-ending feast included whole legs of ham, delicate gourmet pizzas, chicken, and bright, light salads. Homemade rocky road caused sticky, sweet traps for mouths and of course the alcohol flew fast and green.

Games of secret Saint Nick were played with the best gifts being pilfered, nabbed and stolen multiple times. The ultimate prize was a princely trophy, a majestic, royal orb filled with berry liquor, which was swallowed quickly and left winners lustfully licking their lips for more.

The night danced on as L ran to the edge of Kings Park, where nature drops and overlooks the dazzling city lights. Out of breath she twirled and spun til she was dizzy and falling over. There she lay, playing with the lights and absorbing the pureness and utter joy that had befallen her.

At last she let streamers of headlights and cold barren open roads pass through her eyes, as she travelled home to us. Where once through the door she collapsed into a tangle of limbs and later more twinkling lights she then began this delicious tale...

Tonight L came home in a wonderful flurry of excited enchantment, she was positively spell bound. As she sat cross legged on our bed she recanted the magical details of the past few days and buzzed with energy. She was high on the emotions and fantastic adventures that had befallen these past precious hours.

Her story began two, maybe three days ago now on Tuesday with the almost chance meeting of a fellow kindred spirit and one of the most truly beautiful and rare nymphs L has ever had the pleasure of getting to know. She is sure she has made a fast and forever friend in the lovely Chow from Heart and Bleeker. L retold a voyage of endless coffees sprinkled with chocolate and of hours passing, quick as seconds. Of warm, enveloping armchairs and of electric connections.

The full moon kept L uneasy and pacing through tiniest hours of Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Buster and I sat hypnotised for most of the night, watching her walk the hallway and chew on her nails in a clash of dizzying happiness and uneasy restlessness. She finally slept, deep and long.

The rest of Wednesday was infinitely better than it began. The day saw her journey into town and meet up with more kindred spirits in fellow Perth bloggers Kim, Mon and Bon. They bonded over fizzy iced cola, skinny cut hot chips, aioli and fashion. After, L kidnapped Kim back home with her and they both set off into the labyrinth to take outfit photos for me.

Once they arrived home, time tricked them once more and suddenly it was time for L to leave for the Christmas ball. She looked like a mermaid as she dived out the door...

Wednesday saw perfect picnic weather and a scrumptious catch-up with the ever beautiful Kim from BlondeSuburbia, they feasted and gossiped and ran amuck in the Supreme Court gardens of Perth. L always comes back from her play dates with Kim in a wonderful mood and Wednesday was certainly no exception!

That morning Buster and I helped L make potato salad and cupcakes which went down a treat, except in their photo frenzy they forgot to eat the cupcakes! Which is VERY unlike them.

Kim looked stunning in a delicious paint splattered “mullet” dress and ankle boots, L was in a bit of a rush with all the morning’s preparations and didn’t have a lot of time to put together a new outfit so long time readers may have seen this one before.

The above top was an absolute bargain down from $120 to $14 so needless to say it was snapped up in a second. I love the pintuck detailing and draped back, L’s been wearing white a fair bit lately and I must say it’s been a nice change from her wardrobe of black.

Tonight L went off to a tribute gig in town to watch cover bands and dance the night away. Buster and I are extremely excited to have the house to ourselves for the night!

I’m going to catch up on fashion blogs and I think Busty might be planning a night of toothbrush stealing and hiding never the less we’ll all have a fantastic evening.
